Beautiful suite of four armchairs early 19th century, circa 1820, Stamped LORET

VERY RARE

Set of four superb and rare mahogany armchairs, mahogany veneer stamped by the famous cabinetmaker François LORET.

François LORET received master cabinetmaker at the end of the 18th century, stood out for his style and above all for the quality of his pieces, quickly becoming the most serious competitor of the JACOB brothers.

Noticed and very appreciated by the Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, he was appointed, with CRESSENT, supplier of Imperial furniture and furniture from 1811.

Many of his works are listed in the Châteaux des Tuileries, Saint-Cloud and Fontainebleau, as well as in the collection of the Mobilier National.

One of his armchairs was also auctioned for € 26,000 on April 13, 2014 at the Clermont auction house, while the range of his estimate oscillated between 6,000 and 9,000 euros). https://www.lamontagne.fr/clermont-ferrand-63000/loisirs/estampille-francois-loret-maitre-ebeniste-parisien_1964003/

Or even during the prestige sale of the DIOR Family on March 26, 2012 (Drouot Richelieu) where a set of four armchairs, very similar to those I am selling, in mahogany around 1815-1825, stamped Loret, estimated 15,000 / € 20,000 and auctioned for € 32,000.

Also, during the very large sale of September 29, 2008 dedicated to Valery Gisquard D'Estaing: sale of all the Empire and Restoration furniture of his famous Varvasse castle in Chanonat where a suite of six armchairs (also very similar to those that I sell) and sofa stamped Loret, will be sold for more than 30,000 € (photo attached) .. "This is a set of perfect taste, created by one of the greatest cabinetmaker of the early nineteenth century, that we owe the president's wife, Claude Aguttes said. "

LORET François settled at 17 rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine in 1811, then at 34 rue de Charenton in 1814, and at 30 from 1823 to 1832.

Under the Restoration, he continued to produce for the greatest castles and personalities.

Active until 1832.

Slight lack of plating and a wand. In order to have a perfect product, an estimate for these small restorations was made by a master cabinetmaker (journeyman), and can be done if the purchaser wishes.
